A carpet door bar or cover strip is a long piece of metal which bridges the gap between two rooms, securing flooring together for a seamless transition. Door bars are available in a range of sizes and finishes, so you are sure to find the perfect one for your home.
There are a range of carpet door bars available depending on the flooring it will be joining, be sure to choose the right one for the best results. The most common type is a double edge door bar, which joins two pieces of carpets together making your doorways look neat and tidy. If you are joining carpet to vinyl flooring, a single edge door bar is the accessory for you. Whereas, if you are joining carpet to laminate or wood flooring, choose a Z section door bar to ensure a seamless transition. You can also find laminate door bars which are suitable for joining two rooms of laminate flooring together, as well as specialised door bars for luxury vinyl tiles (LVT flooring).

Fitting a carpet door bar might seem daunting but it’s actually pretty straightforward. Preparation is key, so ensure you have the right door bar for your flooring type before you start to avoid any hiccups. It’s also a good idea to remove the door off the hinges so you have more space to work. Our carpet door bars are sold in a range of sizes from 0.9m up to 2.7m, so you should be able to find the perfect size for your door way, but they can also be cut down for particularly narrow doorways. Before you secure the door bar in place, ensure the door bar is centrally placed so it can’t be seen when the door is closed.
