There’s a whole host of different styles of armchairs available to suit any décor. For homes with small children and pets, leather armchairs are a great option as any stains and spills can be easily wiped away. Velvet has no raised weaves or loose threads, so can’t be snagged easily and any dirt or pet hairs shouldn’t cling to the fabric. Both fabric and leather armchairs are available in high back styles to offer extra support, or if you want extra comfort choose from manual and power recliner styles.
Depending on the material of your armchair, there’s a few ways you can give it some extra TLC and keep it looking brand new. To remove any dirt and dust from fabric upholstered armchairs, simply give it a once over with the vacuum and plump up any cushions. Always be sure to use an upholstery attachment to avoid any damage to the fabric. For leather armchairs, a regular vacuum with a soft attachment will remove any surface dirt and any stains can be removed with a clean, damp cloth. Always be careful to only use specialist leather cleaning products to prevent any damage to the leather.
To help determine the best chair for your home, take into consideration your lifestyle and needs. If you require extra support, choose a traditional high back arm chair or a lift and rise chair which also gives you that extra helping hand when standing up. If your chair is going to be used as more of a style statement and you don’t require too much support, patterned accent chairs and swivel chairs are a great option for smaller living spaces as they don’t take up too much space. If space isn’t an issue but you don’t require another sofa, cuddle chairs and love chairs offer the best of both worlds – they are bigger than a chair, but smaller than a sofa and perfect to cuddle up on as the name suggests! Cuddle chairs are available in a range of styles and designs, including recliner love chairs so you can kick back and relax. If you do have a larger living space, round cuddle chairs create more of a statement.
