Recliner Sofa FAQ's

Recliner sofas have mechanisms within them which help the user adjust the reclining seat position using either a manual handle, or a button if it's a power recliner sofa. Types of recliner mechanisms include: Two-position mechanism which allows you to lock the recliner into two seperate positions. 'Rocker' recliner sofas which generally have several reclining angles and the footrest can be set up so the backrest doesnt have to go all the way back (as is the case with two-position recliners.) Push back seats are also another option which requires you to physically push back on the seat to allow the mechanism to recline. Finally, we have 'Riser' recliners which are ideal for individuals with injuries or physical disabilities, these recliners help the user when going from a seated to standing position or visa versa.
Manual recliner sofas usually have a handle or button which will allow the chairs mechanism to unlick and change to a different reclined position (as explained above.) - Power recliner sofas are completely hassle-free, no physical element required. You just press a button and the mechanism is powered electronically which moves a motor allowing you to adjust the position of your seat with ease!
We would not advise you to dismantle your own sofa as a rule, but if you are worried about delivery; our helpful delivery team usually would deliver your sofa in sections and put it together for you in your home. Since the back comes off they generally are easier to navigate around corners making delivery of your new sofa that little bit easier.
Guidelines suggest to leave at least 4 inches between a standard reclining sofa and the wall behind it, although reclining mechanisms do differ and it is always best to check with your sales representative.
