Scatter Cushion FAQ's

Scatter cushions for sofas are filled with fibre or foam, meaning you can choose which option is best for your home. Foam fillings can have a firmer feeling to start with and will soften overtime, but hold their shape for longer in comparison to fibre. Fibre is great if you want that soft and snuggly feeling from your scatter cushion, but will require regular plumping to maintain its shape. It all comes down to personal preference and how often your sofa cushions will be used.
We would always recommend checking the care label when your purchase any new scatter cushions for your sofa, but many options are machine washable. If the cover of the cushion can be removed, simply pop it in the washing machine or hand wash cushions with delicate detailing such as tassels.
Well-loved scatter cushions can lose their shape over time and start to look flat, but they can be easily brought back to life with regular plumping. This helps to re-distribute the fillings in the cushion, moving it back to the centre leaving your cushion looking brand new. Choosing the right filling for your cushion will also determine how well it will keep its shape. Foam interiors hold their firmness for longer, whereas fibre can require more maintenance.
