Vinyl Buying Guide

Vinyl has long been a trusted go-to in flooring. An extremely hard wearing option, it’s ideal for families with pets and children, and especially for busy homes.

Why choose vinyl flooring?

There’s a whole host of reasons why vinyl flooring would make a great addition to your home.

To start, it’s soft and comfortable underfoot, and works well with under-floor heating to give your home that extra touch of comfort. Not only that, but vinyl’s slip resistance makes it a perfect choice for bathrooms, kitchens and utilities.

Although suitable for landings and hallways, we don’t recommend using vinyl flooring on stairs.

Making your selection

The versatility of vinyl and its many finishes means you can achieve a perfect look for any room.

Both in store and online, our sheet vinyl flooring ranges come available in wood, mineral and patterned finishes. Some ranges also have textured finishes for the look and feel of real wood or stone, without their price tag.

Achieving the perfect finish

Before you lay your vinyl, it’s really key to let it acclimatise to the room in which it will be laid. Do this for at least 24 hours ahead of having it fitted.

Depending upon the type of vinyl flooring you choose, there are different ways to achieve the perfect finish. If you’re buying online, you can call our carpet & flooring specialists on 0800 731 0048 to get advice on what fitting options we’d recommend for you.
