Old Sofa Removal

Once you’ve chosen your new sofa from our wide range of styles and have placed your order with us, we will give you an estimated delivery date for when you can expect your new sofa to arrive. Before long, your thoughts will turn to how you will remove your old sofa to make room for your stylish new one. We’ve covered the basics below to give you all the information you need about getting rid of an old sofa.

Donate to charity

Unfortunately, our delivery team can’t offer old sofa collection as part of their service, but we do work closely with The British Heart Foundation, who can raise vital funds for their research simply by you donating your old sofa.

Book a free furniture collection online and a member of their team will get back to you within 72 hours to confirm your old sofa collection, at a time and date that is best suited to you. Alternatively you can call into your local British Heart Foundation store where one of their friendly members of staff will be happy to help you. Please ensure your sofa is still in good condition and fire safety labels are still attached before donation so it can be placed on sale straight away.

Sofa collection

It’s essential that old sofa disposal is done properly as it’s illegal to dump waste items such as sofas on public or private ground, and in doing so, you could incur fines up to £5,000. You can arrange for your local council to collect your old sofa, for a small fee, by visiting the Government website and checking the availability of large waste item collection in your area, or simply taking it to your local council’s household waste and recycling centre.
